South Walton quarterback Dillon Bates threw for 273 yards with four touchdown passes as the Seahawks rallied from a 7-0 deficit to score the final 46 points of the game to grab a win at Seahawk Stadium on Friday night.
Bozeman scored on their first possession of the game as quarterback Logan Foster connected with receiver Zack Mclawhorn for a 25-yard touchdown less than three minutes into the contest to give the visiting team the early lead.
South Walton owned their final home game of 2015 for the rest of the night. Senior Kyle Lenoir scored on a 4-yard run that helped tie the game less than two minutes later with Austin Garofalo hauling in a 20-yard pass for a 14-7 lead at the end of the first 12 minutes of play.
Bozeman drove to the Seahawks 8-yard line early in the second quarter but the home team stopped them on downs, then marched 92 yards the other direction to extend the lead to 20-7 as Jireh Crittenden got loose on a 51-yard scoring reception.
Bates pinned the Bucks at their own 5-yard line with a punt midway through the second quarter with senior Rick Roberts sacking Foster for a safety and a 22-7 lead.
The Seahawks took the ensuing kickoff and drove to the Bay County squad’s 15-yard line before Garofalo drilled a 33-yard field goal for a 25-7 advantage.
Garofalo intercepted a Foster pass right before halftime, setting up a 30-yard pass to John Woolf for a 32-7 lead at intermission.
Foster’s first pass of the second half resulted in another interception with Bates streaking 30 yards for a defensive touchdown and a 39-7 lead.
The Seahawks triggered the Mercy Rule midway through the quarter as Bates hooked up with Jireh Crittenden on a shuttle pass that resulted in an 8-yard touchdown for the final points of the night.
Garofalo finished the game with nine receptions for 94 yards, giving him 55 catches for 1,040 yards entering the final game of his junior season.
The Seahawks travel to Santa Rosa County to face the Jay Royals(2-7) on Friday night with kickoff set for 7 p.m. at Merle-North Stadium.
