AWARD FOR VALOR: On Thursday April 23 at the regular bi-monthly council meeting, Freeport Mayor Russ Barley presented a certificate of valor to city of Freeport employee Addison Parker. On April 8, 2015 during work hours, Parker came opon a severe automobile accident on U.S. 331 at Bay Grove Road. He immediately responded with a fire extinguisher to the burning vehicle, pulled the occupant out to safety and then continued fighting the blaze until help arrived.
