WALTON COUNTY Board of County Commissioners (BCC) Chair Sara Comander and other BCC members joined in honoring the memory of Dr. Durell Peaden on March 22 with the unveiling of a plaque to be placed at the Walton County Health Department, designating the dental suite as the Dr. Durell Peaden Jr. Dental Suite. Peaden’s family and friends gathered for the unveiling and to receive a plaque presented to them by the BCC commemorating the occasion of the dedication. Peaden, who was born in DeFuniak Springs and grew up in Crestview, passed away in June 2015 after a 24-year career as a Crestview physician, six years’ service in the Florida House of Representatives, and a decade in the Florida Senate representing parts of seven Panhandle counties.(Photo courtesy of Walton County Public Information)
