LAST WEEKEND'S CANCER FREEZE event at Lake Jackson was the biggest yet in the charity’s near-10-year history, attracting 2,000-plus visitors and raising upward of $50,000 to help support local families affected by the disease. The 5K race (starting in this photo) draws runners and walkers from all around the Southeast. This year the race had more than 500 participants – roughly a quarter of everyone in attendance.
