You are invited to attend public workshops to review Phase I of the Draft Comprehensive Plan Update for Walton County on Monday May 22; and Monday, June 5, 2017.
Walton County will be hosting these workshops to introduce the proposed work in progress changes to the Conservation, Coastal Management, Recreation and Open Space, and Housing Elements of the County’s Comprehensive Plan. Phase I is the first of three phases, each focusing on a different set of Comprehensive Plan Elements. Public Workshops for Phases II and III will be scheduled for future dates.
The public is invited to attend the workshops, learn about the proposed changes to these Elements, and provide feedback. This workshop is part of Walton County’s initiative to update both the Comprehensive Plan and Land Development Code to achieve a high quality built environment while preserving and enhancing the natural environment.
The public is encouraged to attend this workshop. Your input is important and will help the County ensure that the Comprehensive Plan continues to serve the needs of all County citizens.

PUBLIC NOTICE
The Walton County Environmental Department will be hosting the first Coastal Dune Lakes Environmental Assessment Stakeholders meeting on Thursday, May 25, 2017 from 1:00-3:00 PM at the District Five Commissioner’s Meeting Room, 70 Logan Lane in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.
The Coastal Dune Lakes (CDL) provide the County and its residents a unique environmental resource for recreational and residential activities. The County seeks to carefully balance human activities with impacts to the CDLs. The consulting team of Jones Edmunds & Associates, Inc., Janicki Environmental, Inc., and Frydenborg Ecologic, LLC will be conducting a study of potential human impacts on CDL ecosystems. The study will examine and report on the degree of current impact to the CDLs and how future land use changes could impact the lakes. This will be the first of three stakeholder meetings to be held as part of the study. The stakeholder meetings are intended to share project findings and solicit feedback from stakeholders. A presentation at this first meeting will introduce the project team and the project approach to be taken in the coming months.

The City of DeFuniak Springs, Florida is seeking to contract with a certified public accountant/firm or qualified accounting professional/firm with governmental accounting experience to perform account reconciliations and accounting close-out procedures for the year ended September 30, 2016. The qualified respondent(s) should be familiar with ADG software, or have the ability to quickly learn this software.
