Advisory Committee Applications Open for Vacant Seats
The Walton County Tourist Development Council (TDC) maintains multiple advisory committees made up of local professionals and residents. At this time there is one partial-term vacant seat available on three of the advisory committees.
Individuals interested in volunteering may be considered for the following opportunities:
a.) Beach Management Committee is seeking to fill the committee position designated for one (1) Florida Department of Environmental Protection representative.
b.) Destination Improvement Committee is seeking to fill one (1) of four (4) positions designated for those in business and/ or residents interested in the field of tourism. The four will be geographically distributed in the taxing district to ensure all sections of the beach are represented.
c.) Marketing and Media Committee is seeking to fill one (1) of the positions designated for a professional currently engaged by one of the 15 largest bed tax collectors in South Walton in a marketing, communications or group sales leadership role.
Committees meet at least quarterly for approximately one to two hours. All meetings and communications are subject to Florida Sunshine Law. Applications will be accepted until March 28, 2016 at 4:00 p.m.
The Visit South Walton (VSW) staff will review all applications and update the Tourist Development Council at the April 5th regularly scheduled meeting. New committee members will be notified in writing of the official appointment.
