NOTICE OF REFERENDUM ON A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE ARGYLE FIRE DISTRICT IN WALTON COUNTY, FLORIDA REQUESTING THE SUPERVISOR OF ELECTIONS OF WALTON COUNTY, FLORIDA TO PLACE THE REFERENDUM, MORE FULLY DESCRIBED BELOW, ON THE BALLOT FOR THE GENERAL PRIMARY ELECTION ON AUGUST 26, 2014, TO ALLOW QUALIFIED VOTERS TO VOTE ON AN INCREASE IN THE ANNUAL NON-AD VALOREM SPECIAL ASSESSMENT LEVIED BY THE FIRE DISTRICT ON RESIDENCES AND

BUSINESSES

 

Pursuant to the requirements of Section 100.342, Florida Statutes, the Board of Fire Commissioners (the Board) of Argyle Fire District, Walton County Florida (the District), hereby gives notice of its placement of a referendum (the Referendum) on the ballot of the general primary election currently scheduled on August 26, 2014, on the question to be decided by the electors of the District whether to increase the annual non-ad velorum special assessment the Referendum to appear on the ballot shall read as follows:

 

ARGYLE FIRE DISTRICT

PROPOSED INCREASE

IN NON-AD VALOREM SPECIAL ASSESSEMENTS ON

RESIDENCES AND BUSINESSES

 

Shall the annual non-ad valorem special assessment be increased to: $100.00 per residential dwelling unit.

$100.00 per residential dwelling unit for the first 4 in a Trailer Park, Townhomes or Apartments and $30.00 per each additional unit.

$200.00 per Commercial or Industrial unit under 5000 square feet

$300.00 per Commercial or Industrial unit over 5000 square feet and $300.00 per additional 5000 square feet over 10,000 square feet.

 

This increase is to begin in 2014.
