The Walton County Code Enforcement Board will hold their regular meeting on March 15, 2012 beginning at 6:00 p.m. to be held at the South Walton Courthouse Annex.

The City of DeFuniak Springs, Florida is soliciting proposals for Cathodic Protection Services for Natural Gas Piping.

To be considered, entity must have extensive knowledge regarding established Cathodic Protection engineering practices, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Title 49 Part 192 Subpart I, Florida Administrative Code (FAC) Ch 25-12, and National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) corrosion prevention and control standards.

Entities interested in submitting a proposal should contact Michelle Schack, Special Projects Coordinator at P.O. Box 685, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32435 or (850) 892-8500, between the normal office hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., to obtain the list of criteria which will be used to complete the proposal. The deadline for submission to the City of DeFuniak Springs Florida is Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Any proposals received after 2:00 p.m. on the above date will not be accepted and will be returned unopened.

The City of DeFuniak Springs reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals, and if an award is made, it will be made to the most responsible Cathodic Protection service provider whose proposal indicates that the award will be in the best interest of the City of DeFuniak Springs. The City reserves the right to waive any irregularities in the proposal. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 18 OF THE DEFUNIAK SPRINGS LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE; ESTABLISHING PROCEDURES AND REQUIREMENTS GOVERNING EXPEDITED REVIEW AND PERMITTING FOR MAJOR DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

The purpose and intent of this ordinance is to provide expedited review and permitting of development projects that substantially contributes to the economy of DeFuniak Springs through the creation of jobs. The expedited review and permitting process is intended to be an incentive available to developers of all major development projects.

A Public Hearing encourages the public to provide written and/or verbal comments on the above matter under consideration. All interested persons may appear at the scheduled meeting and be heard with respect to the proposed request. Any person who decides to appeal any decision of the City Council with respect to the matter considered at this meeting will need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is based.
