LOCAL DIGNITARIES, including the entire Freeport City Council, joined hundreds of customers to attend a ribbon cutting ceremony at the new Publix store in Freeport, on Wednesday morning, September 14. “We are extremely excited to be opening this new 45,000 foot store,” said Publix Media and Community Relations Manager Dwaine Stevens. “I believe people will feel the wow factor as they enter the store today. We are offering superb service and great products. We are looking forward to fulfilling your needs and demands.” Just before the ribbon was cut Freeport Mayor Russ Barley addressed the gathering. “How exciting is this?” Barley said enthusiastically.
