The Walton County Tourist Development Council will be holding two Public Space Design Workshops on February 16th and 17th at the South Walton Annex from 4pm-8pm
The Public Space Design Guide: Design Workshop will consist of active participation of the Tourist Development Council, Walton County Board of Commissioners, local business owners, and the general public. The workshop will provide a forum to generate input from stakeholders on a book of general design guidelines for public space in south Walton County. The workshop will be led by a team of landscape architects and planners from the R-A-M Professional Group of Jacksonville, Florida and local urban designer/architect, Mark Schnell. The goal of the workshop will be to more narrowly define the vision desired in the design guide.
The workshop will transpire over a two day period starting, February 16-17, 2016. The first day will consist of stakeholder breakout sessions to fine tune design guidelines for a six design element groupings. The second day will serve as the out brief and will give feedback to participants from the design professionals regarding conclusions reached during the first day of the workshop. An opportunity to present further participant feedback will be provided to ensure clarity of the scope and vision of the project. The goal of the out brief is to initiate a starting point for our design guide in keeping with the desires of our south Walton County stakeholders.
-Please arrive 10-15 minutes early so everyone can sign in and we can start promptly at 4pm.
-Its recommended that the stakeholders attend both days. However, it is not required.

Architectural/Engineering Design Services for New Elementary School South with the
Walton County School District
The Walton County School District, Facilities Department, will receive and consider proposals from prospective Architectural Design firms for planning, development and design of New Elementary School South. The firm will work with the Facilities Department and Construction Management Firm under guidance of the School Board of Walton County Florida. The selected firm shall provide the School Board with the master plan with the potential for site expansion in the future. The proposed project is on a thirty-three (33) acre parcel of land in the Point Washington area of Walton County.
All Architectural proposals should include a letter of intent, stating qualifications on Standard Form – 330 and limited to fifty (50) pages total. Applicants should list educational related projects with emphasis on K12 design that fall under the jurisdiction of the Florida Department of Education, Office of Educational Facilities.
Additionally, applicants shall provide:
• Current certification of completion of the (SREF) advanced class, preferably within the past three years.
• Florida Public Entity Crime Statement (287.133, F.S.).
• Compliance with provisions of the Jessica Lunsford Act (1012.465, F.S.)
Applicants shall provide the School District eight (8) hard copies of their proposals, plus one (1) electronic copy on or before 2:00 P.M. CST, Thursday, February 25, 2016. Firms are notified that there should be no contact with any School Board member beyond this date, this could constitute a disqualification of their submittal package.
