The April 8 municipal election results for DeFuniak Springs are as follows. In the race for City Council seat 1, incumbent Don Harrison received 257 votes and Billy Deisler got 179 votes.
In the race for City Council seat 3, incumbent James E. Coffield received 238 votes and John Hinson received 191 votes.
Also on the ballot was a referendum for election of the City Clerk, currently an elected position. The issue presented was, “Should the position of City Clerk be changed from one of an elected position to one of an appointed position filled by majority vote of the City Council of the City of DeFuniak Springs, Florida?” The vote was 198 yes, and 225 no.
The election results were certified at City Hall.
