FORT WALTON BEACH, FL, – Covenant Care invites the community to join them in wearing blue and attending its Children’s Bereavement Open House event in recognition of Children’s Grief Awareness Day. The event will be held on Thursday, November 17, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Covenant Care (220 Eglin Parkway NE, Fort Walton Beach, FL).
“Statistics show one 1 out of every 20 children will experience the death of a parent before they graduate from high school, and 1 out of every 5 will experience the death of someone close to them,” said Latonia Jennings, Covenant Care Bereavement Coordinator. “This day provides an opportunity for all of us to raise awareness of the painful impact that the death of a loved one has on the life of a child and make sure these children receive the support they need.”
Covenant Care’s Children’s Bereavement Open House will allow the community to meet with the local Bereavement Coordinator and learn about the services Covenant Care provides to bereaved children. Information will also be available for those in attendance regarding children’s grief and how each individual can support a grieving child.
