Walton County Public Works Director Starsky Harrell has tendered his resignation and Walton County Human Resources Manager Lynda Robinson has announced her retirement.

Harrell formally announced his resignation in a brief June 14 letter, writing that he was thankful to have had the opportunity to work with Walton County Public Works since 2007. “However, the time has come for me to move on,” Harrell wrote. His last day with the county will be Aug. 10.

Harrell did not a return a call seeking comment for this article.

Robinson said she will be retiring from her position effective July 31 after more than 19 years’ employment with Walton County, the first two of those years with the Walton County Clerk of Courts. She has worked with Walton County Human Resources since its inception and was instrumental in setting up the department.

Robinson said she is looking forward to some rest and relaxation and spending more time with her mother, who is in a nursing home. She also plans to travel to New York state to visit with her son and grandson.
