The Walton County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at the South Walton County Courthouse Annex located at 31 Coastal Centre Boulevard, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida 32459 beginning at 5:00 pm, to hear the following items:
QUASI-JUDICIAL ITEMS:
Ocean Estates SSA – Project number 16-00600018 is being reviewed by Christine Sammelmann. This is a small scale amendment application submitted by McNeil Carroll Engineering, requesting to amend the Future Land Use designation from Residential Preservation to Low Density Residential on 8.29 acres. The project is located South on Thompson Rd. from Hwy 98 0.075 miles with the property on the left side of the road and identified by parcel number(s) 34-2S-20-33270-051-0000. Sea 30A Place – Project number 16-00100149 is being reviewed by Tim Brown. This is a major development order application submitted by Choctaw Engineering, Inc., requesting approval to construct a 122 unit apartment complex on 28.25 acres with a future land use of Neighborhood Infill. The project is located on the east side of C.R. 393 South, north of Rena Arnett Lane and south of Shannon Lane, and is identified by parcel number(s) 35-2S-20-33280-000-0590, 35-2S-20-33280-000-0600, and 35-2S-20-33280-000-0610.
The Planning Commission will make a recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners regarding these items either to approve, approve with conditions or to deny. Any agenda item that is tabled will be scheduled for a future Planning Commission meeting and will not go forward to the Board of County Commissioners until the Planning Commission makes a recommendation.
Proposed project(s) or plan amendment(s) may be inspected by the public from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday at Walton County Planning and Development Services located at 31 Coastal Center Blvd, Suite 100, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32549 or 47 North 6th Street, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32435.
Interested parties may appear at the public hearing and be heard with respect to the proposed project(s) or plan amendment(s).
In accordance with Section 286.26, Florida Statutes, whenever any board or commissioner of any state agency or authority, or of any agency or authority of any county, municipal corporation, or other political subdivision, which has scheduled a meeting at which official acts are to be taken receives, at least 48 hours prior to the meeting, a written request by a physically handicapped person to attend the meeting, directed to the chairperson or director of such board, commission, agency, or authority, such chairperson or director shall provide a manner by which such person may attend the meeting at its scheduled site or reschedule the meeting to a site which would be accessible to such person.

Please be advised that the Customary Use Ordinance Advisory Committee will hold a Regular Meeting on Monday, February 27, 2017 beginning at 4:00 PM at the South Walton Courthouse Annex located at 31 Coastal Centre Boulevard, Santa Rosa Beach, FL.
The purpose of these meetings will be to review and discuss the Customary Use Ordinance (2016-23) adopted by the Walton County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) on October 25, 2016, and report recommendations, ideas, alternatives or amendments to the Ordinance that would best serve the residents and visitors of Walton County back to the BCC in February 2017.
Please be governed accordingly.
