The Villages at Seagrove a/k/a WaterColor PUD and DRI Amendment– A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF WALTON COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING The Villages at Seagrove a/k/a WATERCOLOR PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT (PUD) AND DEVELOPMENT OF REGIONAL IMPACT (DRI) Resolution 2002-32, PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.  Project number 16-02200004 is being reviewed by Renee Bradley.  The St. Joe  Company and the WaterColor Neighborhood Association are requesting a determination that their application for an amendment to the previously approved WaterColor PUD and DRI constitutes  a non-substantial deviation  under Subsection 380.06(19)(e)2.k Florida Statutes. Sugar Sands Estates – Project number 15-00100170 is being reviewed by Vivian   Shamel. This is a major development order application submitted by Core Engineering & Consulting, Inc., consisting of 39 single-family homes on 19.59 acres with a future land use of Conservation Residential, two units per acre. The project is located at 637 Sugar Drive, South of US Hwy 98 E, and is identified by parcel number(s) 33-2S-20-33260-023-0000 & 33-2S-20-33260-024-0000.

Emerald Coast Business Center West – Project number 16-00100141 is being reviewed by Bob Baronti.  This is a major development order application submitted by Jenkins Engineering, Inc. requesting approval to develop a 27,000 SF office space on 2.75 acres with a future land use of Coastal Center.  The project is located 740 ft. south onto Business Centre Drive off U.S. Hwy 98 and identified by parcel number(s) 29-2S-21-42000-010-0000.

The Planning Commission will make a recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners regarding these items either to approve, approve with conditions or to deny.  Any agenda item that is tabled will be scheduled for a future Planning Commission meeting and will not go forward to the Board of County Commissioners until the Planning Commission makes a recommendation.

Proposed project(s) or plan amendment(s) may be inspected by the public from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday at Walton County Planning and Development Services located at 31 Coastal Center Blvd, Suite 100, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32549 or 47 North 6th Street, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32435.

Interested parties may appear at the public hearing and be heard with respect to the proposed project(s) or plan amendment(s).

Second Public Hearing Notice

The City of DeFuniak Springs plans to apply to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) for a FFY 2016 Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) of $700,000 in the Neighborhood Revitalization category.  The activities, dollar amounts and estimated percentage benefit to low and moderate income persons for which the City of DeFuniak Springs is applying are:

Administration Fees / Engineering / Inspection $85,000

The proposed sewer line replacement project will be along Live Oak Avenue from US 331 to 23rd Street.  Following sewer installation, Live Oak Avenue West will be paved.

The City of DeFuniak Springs does not expect that anyone will be displaced as a result of CDBG-funded activities. If any persons are displaced as a result of the planned activities, the City of DeFuniak Springs will assist them as described in the City’s anti-displacement and relocation policy, which is available for review at City Hall.

A public hearing to provide citizens an opportunity to comment on the application will be held at DeFuniak Springs City Hall, 71 US Highway 90 West, on February 13, 2017, at 6:00 p.m. A draft copy of the application will also be available for review during normal business hours in the Clerk’s Office at City Hall by noon on February 6, 2017. Persons wanting to submit written comments on the application should send them to Tilman Mears, Interim City Manager, by e-mail at citymanager@defuniaksprings.net or by mail to P.O. Box 685, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32435 no later than February 13, 2017.

A copy of the final application will be available for review in the Clerk’s Office at City Hall no later than February 16, 2017. The application will be submitted to DEO on or before February 16, 2017.
