REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS FOR GENERAL CONTRACTOR
The City of DeFuniak Springs is seeking qualifications for a General Contractor to bid the restoration of the Chautauqua Hall of Brotherhood historic structure on the lake in DeFuniak Springs.
In general, the work will include the following: Repair; cleaning and painting of the exterior façade; tuck pointing; elevator installation; framing of new walls and ceilings; HVAC; 3 phase electrical supply, wiring, and lighting installation; fire and lightning protection systems; installation of new water supply and sprinkler system; handicap accessible toilets; cabinetry; site work; among other work.
Contractors are requested to forward their qualifications using AIA Document A305, and any other supporting information. It is anticipated the bid documents will be ready for distribution in mid February.
The city will accept submissions until February 16, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. CST. The RFQs will be opened in the Council Chambers on the above date and time and read aloud. The submissions shall be marked on the outside of the envelope “RFQ – General Contractor for Chautauqua Hall of Brotherhood Restoration.” Sealed submissions will be received at 71 US Hwy 90 W., DeFuniak Springs, FL 32433 or P.O. South Walton High School with the Walton County School District
The Walton County School District, Facilities Department, will receive and consider proposals from prospective Architectural Design firms for planning, development, and design of Classroom Additions & Campus Master Planning. AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A REFERENDUM CONCERNING AN AMENDMENT OF ARTICLE II, SECTION 2, OF THE CHARTER LAWS OF THE CITY OF FREEPORT, FLORIDA ADDRESSING THE RIGHT OF MAYOR TO VOTE IN CASES OF TIES.
A copy of the proposed Ordinance is available at the City Hall for inspection and all interested persons may appear at the meeting and be heard with respect to the proposed ordinance.
Note: If a person decides to appeal any decision made by the Council with respect to any matter considered at such meeting or hearing, such person will need a record of the proceeding and that, for such purpose, such person may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which that appeal is to be based.
The purpose of the Ordinance is to authorize a referendum to be voted on concerning the right of Mayor to vote in cases of ties in the City of Freeport, Florida.
