Architectural/Engineering Design Services for New Elementary School South with the 

Walton County School District

The Walton County School District, Facilities Department, will receive and consider proposals from prospective Architectural Design firms for planning, development and design of New Elementary School South.  The firm will work with the Facilities Department and Construction Management Firm under guidance of the School Board of Walton County Florida.  The selected firm shall provide the School Board with the master plan with the potential for site expansion in the future. The proposed project is on a thirty-three (33) acre parcel of land in the Point Washington area of Walton County.

All Architectural proposals should include a letter of intent, stating qualifications on Standard Form – 330 and limited to fifty (50) pages total.  Applicants should list educational related projects with emphasis on K12 design that fall under the jurisdiction of the Florida Department of Education, Office of Educational Facilities.

Additionally,

• May provide certification of completion of the (SREF) Advanced Course

• Shall provide Florida Public Entity Crime Statement (287.133, F.S.).

• Shall be compliant  with provisions of the Jessica Lunsford Act (1012.465, F.S.)

Applicants shall provide the School District eight (8) hard copies of their proposals, plus one (1) electronic copy on or before 2:00 P.M. CST, Thursday, February 25, 2016.  Firms are notified that there should be no contact with any School Board member beyond this date, this could constitute a disqualification of their submittal package.

REQUEST FOR BIDS

The City of DeFuniak Springs is requesting bids to assist with the disposition of city equipment and inventory items deemed surplus by the city council.  Typical items deemed surplus are personal use type vehicles, garbage trucks, office equipment, scrap metal, etc.

The successful bidder must be able to demonstrate they have the experience in marketing assets in order to maximize the city’s return along with their ability to schedule all sales and deliver/dispose of all items to include the processing of any necessary paperwork.  The city also requires a comprehensive reporting system to effectively manage the lifecycle of all its assets across various departments and functions.  Also requested is the ability to manage the process of selling scrap metal.

The city will accept sealed bids in hard copy format only until March 16, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. CST.  The bids will be opened in the Council Chambers on the above date and time and read aloud.  The proposals shall be marked on the outside of the envelope “Sealed Bids – Disposition of Surplus Property.”  Sealed bids will be received at 71 US Hwy 90 West, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32433 or P.O. Box 685, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32435.  Any bids received after 2:00 p.m. on the above date will not be accepted and will be returned unopened to the bidder.  The City Council will award the contract at its regularly scheduled Council meeting on March 28, 2016.
